Memory

Apologies for my absence...I just took an actuarial exam, but now am back into the photoblog : )

This picture was taken at an island called Ping Chau in Hong Kong. The island was once a thriving fishing village, but with increasingly efficient fishing ships, continuing this fishing existence was ultimately uneconomical. So now the island sits completely deserted. Deserted, that is except on weekends when a boatload (literally one) of people from HK come in the morning, walk clockwise around the island and leave in the evening. Some also camp out on Saturday night. The natural beauty of this island is quite remarkable though, and I will run a number of the pictures I've taken here over the course of the next week or two.

This picture was taken from inside an abandoned building.
